This recipe is a variation on the one served from under a broiler. I designed it to cook from the bottom up using a black bottomed skillet directly on the grill. Similar to the original recipe for the Hot Brown, note the seafood switch from turkey.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"cem5q-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"cem5q-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"cem5q-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"agsu-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"agsu-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"agsu-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">2 servings<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"3dp0o-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"3dp0o-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"3dp0o-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"f1ldk-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"f1ldk-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"f1ldk-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">INGREDIENTS:<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"el99j-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"el99j-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"el99j-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">2 cups whole milk<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"ak9ad-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"ak9ad-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"ak9ad-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">3 Tablespoons unsalted butter<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"d0tsq-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"d0tsq-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"d0tsq-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">3 Tablespoons all purpose flour<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"5chbm-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"5chbm-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"5chbm-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">1\/2 cup coarsely grated Gruyere cheese<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"cma8k-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"cma8k-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"cma8k-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">1\/2 teaspoon salt<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"999el-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"999el-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"999el-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">1\/8 teaspoon black pepper<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"332d8-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"332d8-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"332d8-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">1\/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"46v8o-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"46v8o-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"46v8o-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">4 large shrimp with the tail on<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"outk-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"outk-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"outk-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">2 thick cut fried green tomatoes<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"59pei-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"59pei-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"59pei-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">2 Tablespoons cooked and shredded crab<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"2o2qd-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"2o2qd-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"2o2qd-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">2 Tablespoons steamed spinach<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"9dl74-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"9dl74-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"9dl74-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">4 slices of cooked bacon<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"8uc27-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"8uc27-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"8uc27-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">2 large slices of Texas Toast or thick French bread. Toasted lightly.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"eba2a-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"eba2a-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"eba2a-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"7tf9d-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"7tf9d-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"7tf9d-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">DIRECTIONS:<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"efao1-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"efao1-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"efao1-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">For (2) servings of Not Browns on the Grill start by prepping a mornay sauce. In a 2-quart saucepan, Melt butter over low heat. Add flour. Cook over low heat whisking constantly for no longer than 3 minutes. Add milk continually while whisking. Bring to a boil stirring constantly. Reduce to low heat. Allow the mornay to gently simmer. Whisk occasionally for about 10 minutes.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"6pftk-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"6pftk-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"6pftk-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"9igbo-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"9igbo-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"9igbo-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">Remove from heat. Fold in the Gruyere until it is melted. Stir in salt and pepper. Lastly add nutmeg.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"9pg7v-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"9pg7v-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"9pg7v-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"81cm1-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"81cm1-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"81cm1-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">For each Not Brown, place a slice of bread in a black bottomed skillet. Cover with shredded crab. Top this with spinach. Cross with two slices of cooked bacon. Add the slab of fried green tomato. Pour mornay sauce over each Not Brown. Crown with cooked shrimp. You can leave the shrimp off and add after bringing the sandwich up to a suitable heat for serving.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"5jnil-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"5jnil-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"5jnil-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-offset-key=\"59qek-0-0\" data-editor=\"574vr\" data-block=\"true\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"59qek-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"59qek-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">Set on top of a hot grill. Cover, and cook until sauce bubbles and the entire stack is hot.
